My Mama, she's some kind of wonderful!

Yesterday we went over to my parents house with the kids. We went in separate cars, Xavier brought Kael, Tyson and two of Tyson's friends, Averion and O'neal. My mom made us all an awesome dinner and helped out with Kael. She's always doing things like that. With everything that she has going on in her own everyday schedule, she still takes so much time helping our family out with stuff. Really anything, whatever it may be. She always has the time. I know there are times when she may be tired or may not really feel like doing anything but she will still watch Kael and or Tyson if we need her. She does so much for my kids. She kept Tyson for so long when he was younger and recently has taken care of Kael too. Once I knew I couldn't take him to work with me anymore, I asked for her help again and she was there for us, no questions asked. This is a woman that really would give you the shirt off her own back if it was what you needed. She worries about me and how I'm doing. If we're on the phone and I sound even the slightest bit down, she always makes it a point to ask if I'm okay or how I'm doing. She is one of the most excepting people I know. She really would help anyone, not just her own family. She has done the things for and with my kids that I was afraid to or wasn't sure about. And it always works out. Having five kids of her own, she has extensive knowledge in child care and she's not afraid to try new things...even if I don't really agree with in the beginning. She would drive all the way to my job in Austin to bring me something to eat or give me a ride to a Dr's appt. Last week, she took me to my oral surgery, waited for me there, and then took me to La Madeleine for lunch! She's always sending food home with us when we go over there or asking if we need anything. Not to mention the conversations we have about relationships and life experiences. She always gives good advice and will listen to me go on and on and on...
There are so many more thing but I really just wanted to tell her how much I love her and how much myself and my family appreciates everything she does for us. Mom, I love you and you're the greatest!

Fun at the park

Recently, there was a park built about 10 mins from our house. It is in the middle of a huge shopping center. We love going there because the playground is great, there are springs that shoot water randomly in about 8 different places AND during the summer they have live outdoor music for FREE! We can make a whole afternoon of it. We like to eat at the restaurant that overlooks the park so Tyson can still play while the food is being prepared. Then when we're done eating, we head towards the center where the band sets up and the water springs are near by. We dance and splash around and just act silly. Since it's HOT in TX, I like to get a little wet too and I really enjoy seeing the boys having such a good time. We always meet neat people and it's very affordable.

Here's Tyson doing his flips and dancing to the music. He's got the other kids shaking their stuff too!

After they danced and played on the playground, it's time for some refreshment. Tyson likes to dance in the water too!

KK was soaked! Cute as ever!

TyTy also likes to karate chop at the water and cause it to splash all over me!

Our new summer hot spot!

Last Saturday, I took Tyson to the Blue Hole. It's a swimming hole in Wimberley that my sister Amanda and I used to go to when we went to girls camp around the ages of 8 and 9. If we kept our cabins clean and up to par, we were allowed to go there for about three or four hours as reward. That was close to 20 years ago and the park is still open to the public and is just as beautiful as it was then. One of the coolest things are the VERY high trees and rope swings. One of which Tyson tried out, several times, while we were there. A lot of the kids were really getting up there...some as high up as 50ft at least. Then they would drag the rope swing with a piece of string that was tied to it up to where they were, positioned themselves on the seat of the swing and then jumped. It was awesome! Tyson especially thought so. He told me he wanted to do that too, I'll let you all guess what my answer was. Take a look though, at the swing he did have fun with. We will definitely be going back!

He was so pround of himself! As was I!

Conquer!

Shortly after we moved in, our neighbors gave us a PlaySkool playground that they had kept in their backyard for the little girl who lived in our house before us. I guess they would babysit her sometimes and she would play on it while she was there. Anyway, they gave it to us. It was a nice gesture though at that time, Tyson was already too big for it. Sure, him and his friends would jump on it but they couldn't really fit to use the slides and small tunnels.
Recently Kael has began his conquest to slide down the little slide and get in one of the tunnels. The time has come, this last weekend the boys were playing in the backyard and Kael had a blast. He hasn't completely mastered it, as you will see, but I would say he has definitely conquered the task! He climbed up there on his own and everything!
Check it out...

(keep in mind, Im still learning this blog thing so try to imagine that the pics were in opposite order..as I intended them.)

All night!

I woke up this morning, early, and when I went into our guest bedroom to find something to wear amidst the piles of clean clothes that we have neglected to put away, there was Tyson, watching TV with the box of Krispy Kreme that Xavier had brought home last night. He looked at me as if I had startled him. Then he said "Mama, is it morning?! I've been awake ALL night....dang, I can't believe it!" It was so cute! Although it doesn't thrill me that my kid got NO sleep and will be impossible to deal with all day, it was really sweet to see the excitement in his face so early in the day. It made my morning.
